What Are Content Signals?

Content signals read how much real, on-topic content a page carries — its word count, paragraphs and lists, images and video, a direct answer up top, and a question-and-answer block. Depth is what a thin page cannot fake.

Each is defined the way a customer would read it — plainly, with no fix instruction and no data source named. DNA Match counts a signal only where the winners in your market clearly separate from the trailing pages.

Body word count: How much body text the page carries — a rough measure of whether it covers its topic or only touches it.
Number of paragraphs: How many paragraphs the page breaks its text into — a signal of readable structure over an undivided wall of words.
Average sentence length (readability): How long the average sentence runs — a plain readability signal, where shorter tends to read easier.
Number of lists: How many lists the page uses to break points into scannable items.
Number of images: How many images the page carries to support and illustrate its text.
Has an embedded video: Whether the page includes a video — richer media that tends to hold attention and add depth.
Has a FAQ / Q&A block: Whether the page carries a question-and-answer block — the shape answer engines find easiest to quote.
Number of data tables: How many data tables the page uses to lay out structured facts.
Leads with a direct summary/answer: Whether the page leads with a direct summary or answer up top, rather than making a reader dig for it.
