What Is a Canonical Tag, and Is Mine Set Right?
A canonical tag tells search engines which URL is the real, indexable version of a page — so duplicate or parameter URLs don't split your ranking signals. It's a single line in the page head.
What "Good" Looks Like
A good canonical is present, absolute, and points to a URL on your own site — ideally the page's own clean address. A missing, relative, or off-site canonical is a real finding, reported with its evidence.
